Ladies football

As we reflect on the football season of 1999, we realise that the ladies football team have little to show for their efforts and commitment throughout the year. A league defeat away to St. Eunans early in the year left there hopes very slim, as we all know the team who finished top of the league wins without having to play a league final. The ladies went on to win all there other league games except the last one which they drew with Four Masters.
In the championship they were defeated in the first leg by St.Eunans at Fr. Tierney Park. The second leg showed a massive improvement with each player giving 100% in Letterkenny but sadly luck was once again not on there side and they lost by a few points in the end.
Tribute must go to team manager teddy Kane who has worked tirelessly over the past few years. Also thanks to team trainer Joe Duffy who took charge of getting the team fit.
The senior team entered both the Ulster and All-Ireland 7-a-sides competitions during the year. They failed to come out of there group in the Ulster competition but done a lot better in the All-Ireland competition qualifying for the shield quater final only to be defeated by county rivals St. Eunans
